Service Feature: Neck Resets

As guitars age, the angle between the neck and the body can slightly change, causing unusually high action. For bolt on guitars, this is a simple repair, require some sanding or shimming. For glued in necks, like the older Supro archtop below, the neck needs to be removed from the dovetail joint and reglued into the proper angle, otherwise known as a neck-reset. This is a complex process as detailed here. A portion of the fretboard needed to be removed to steam the bad joint appart. It was then reglued, clamped, and the fingerboard reglued and refinished.
