As guitars age, the angle between the neck
and the body can slightly change, causing unusually high action.
For bolt on guitars, this is a simple repair, require some sanding
or shimming. For glued in necks, like the older Supro archtop below,
the neck needs to be removed from the dovetail joint and reglued
into the proper angle, otherwise known as a neck-reset. This is
a complex process as detailed here. A portion of the fretboard needed
to be removed to steam the bad joint appart. It was then reglued,
clamped, and the fingerboard reglued and refinished. For more information
