Featured is a Trey LeBlanc's
custom strat, built by Andy Greenberg at elRayo Guitarworks. In
2006, Trey enrolled at GIT in Los Angeles, the world famous school
for a variety of guitar styles. For his schooling, Trey needed a
fast playing guitar with hardware and pickups for a high-gain setting.
The results: Shredding!
And the specs to this speed machine:
Body: Alder - the classic wood of so many great strats
Neck: Maple, 15 degree radius rosewood fingerboard - the flat radius-ideal
for dextorous finger technique and legato runs
Neck Pickup: EMG 85 - Active pickup with even response and boosted
output
Bridge Pickup: EMG 81 - Active bridge pickup ideal for high gain
tones w/ a big midrange
Electronics: onboard preamp, master volume, neck tone (passive),
bridge tone (passive), rear-mounted battery cases - lots of gain
on tap with the option to add EMG active EQ circuits like the SPC
presence control.
Hardware: Floyd Rose locking trem, Q-Parts pickguard and Celtic
cross knobs, Sperzel locking tuners - great tuning stability and
slick looks to boot
Other: body routed for humbuckers and 1 middle single coil (unused),
body routed for trem back-pull (1 full step up for high E string)
- SHRED!
Two years into owning this guitar, Trey still takes the time to
say hello and how much he enjoys it. Thanks Trey!
