Wanting a new look for
your instrument? elRayo can have your guitar or bass refinished
in a variety of styles, includng pearl, sparkle, transparent and
solid colors. Luthier Andy Greenberg can repair your the finish
on your favorite axe, touching up dings and scratches, or giving
your new replacement neck a light nitrocellulous finish that still
lets you feel the wood in your hands, and not a thick plasticy coating.
For those with vintage instruments whose value depends upon the
quality of its original finish
Recently, Andrew Shoulders brought in a Korean P-bass recently
given to him for a complete refinish, hardware upgrade and setup.
Originally, the bass was pretty standard: black finish and cheap,
import pickups. elRayo Guitarworks first prepped the bass for refinishing,
removing all of the hardware, electronics and neck. Next consulting,
with Andrew, we picked out a silver sparkle finish for both the
body and the headstock. The original finish was stripped down to
the wood to maintain the tonal integrity of the body and neck woods.
Once the refinish was completed, we reassembled the bass and installed
a new set of Seymour Duncan Bassline pickups. Not only was the look
happening, but the tone started to shine as well. Lastly, elRayo
Guitarworks setup the bass to the high standards we have become
known for. You can tell from the pictures how happy Andrew was with
his new bass.
